VISION 2020 PARTNERS IN ALPENA

Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency, Inc. (NEMCSA) has partnered to take the lead as a visionary driver of Vision 2020 in Alpena. NEMCSA works in 11 counties and over 6,300 square miles and overlaps into another 11 counties. This private, non-profit Community Action Agency is governed by a 33 member Board of Directors and brings together federal and state grant funds as well as dollars from local private and public sources. These resources are then directed into programs that aid the poor and otherwise disadvantaged throughout the age spectrum, from pre-schoolers to the elderly of northeast Michigan. In addition, the agency provides assistance to local governments and other non-profit agencies in securing funding for a range of projects that benefit communities and individuals within the NEMCSA service area.

Alpena Area Habitat for Humanity is committed to providing a simple, decent and affordable home for families that will help themselves and others volunteer to build a home in their community. Alpena has averaged 2-5 homes each year and was established in 1990.
